S’more Pops

Who doesn’t love S’mores?  They make me think of summertime, camping, hunting around for the perfect stick and sticky fingers.  This weekend I made these pops for a friends baby shower- so yummy and couldn’t be easier to make!

Let me break it down for ya.  You need chocolate to melt (I had Baker’s but chocolate chips would work just fine too), graham crackers, marshmallows and a nifty torch.  I had never used my torch before… fun times!  It took a good 15 minutes for the Husband to figure out how to fill it with Butane but after that I was a torching machine.  Those marshmallows never knew what hit ‘em!  I used the torch to toast the top half of the marshmallow but left the bottom untoasted.  I was worried that if I toasted the whole thing the chocolate might pull the marshmallow apart when I dipped it.  (Let’s see how many times I can say type torch and toasted)  After you give them a good blast with the torch let them cool then dip the bottom half into the chocolate and then dip in the crushed graham crackers.  Voila!

I added sticks to these because we were sticking them into adorable tiny hay bales as part of the baby shower decor.  SO CUTE!

Action shot!

Happy Monday campers!

Daddy’s Little Helper

The babe and I tagged along for a trip over to Nana and Papas to feed/water the animals tonight.  We weren’t much help… unless playing with the dogs counts.

There was lots of grass picking.

Until she finally spotted the cows.  Good thing she knows a cow says “moo”- she told them allll about it.

They stood staring at her just like this for the longest time.

They were trying to figure out what that tiny, fish lipped thing was :)

We gathered eggs…. and P dropped an egg.  We’re in big trouble!  Let’s just say my cute photo op didn’t work out so well.

Lemme’ get it Daddio!

P checked on the pumpkin plants and was impressed with their growth.

Sweet baby toes!

Wagon Ride

I had the vision of an aqua Radio Flyer wagon I couldn’t get out of my head.  Perfect for the babe to ride around in at Nana & Papa’s, the farmer’s market, Christmas tree farm, you get what I mean.  Problem is, Radio Flyers are red.  Gorgeous shiny red.  I wanted aqua… and the husband made it happen with a little spray paint and a lot of determination.  :)  Okay, actually, there was a lot of spray paint too.  The project turned into a much bigger project than planned but the wagon turned out so perfect!  Good work Daddio!

A wagon ride isn’t complete without her pal the sheep.

A good portion of the ride was spent with her flailing her arms around with delight.

And chewing on her shoes.  I’m not sure what companies are putting into baby shoes these days, but it must taste good because she looooves them!

Happy Monday Ya’ll!

It’s Okay…Right?

I have a confession.  The babe has been held to sleep… every day of her life.  every.single.day.

I hear other Mommas talk about how their little ones jibber jabber themselves to sleep alone in their crib and I think that’s amazing.  Think of all the time I could save and things I could get done (dishes!).

But then nights like tonight happen when I fall asleep in her glider.  That good kind of sleep, the kind that you just slip into on accident.  Then you wake up warm, with a sweaty baby head squished up against your head and you realize that she will probably be ten years old and you’ll still be doing this.  Because it’s that kind of perfection.

Pony Lovin’

The babe is all about giving “love” to everyone these days.  She will love on her books, the floor, toys, chairs, people and stuffed animals.  It’s pretty darn cute.

Mr. Pony just hanging out minding his own business.

Little did he know he was about to get some lovin’.

Outta that basket and time to get mauled!

On the walking front, she took about 12 steps in a row today.  I just know it’s going to click for her any day now.  Until then, she keeps me on my toes waiting for it to happen!

Bacheloretting!

This weekend we celebrated Steph’s last official wedding event before the big day- her bachelorette partay!  It was supposed to be the first time I spent the night away from the babe… until we realized we’re kinda getting old and we were all pooped by midnight :)  So, home I went to a baby who was just fine without me.  This whole no more breastfeeding thing is going much easier than I thought it would.  Knock on wood!  Anyways, back to the last fling festivities.

The beautiful bride-to-be!  Multiple people spotted the blonde in the sash and tiara and thought she was a princess/beauty queen.  I’m pretty sure the little girl who spotted the “princess” was devastated she didn’t get to take a picture with her.

This little drink is delicious fruitiness at first and then it kills you with HABANERO infused vodka.  No thanks.  I’m definitely not into that!  That nice sweet pineapple mojito in the background is more my style.  :)

Canby crew!

Aaand, don’t ask me how- but P’s favorite crabby made a cameo :)

Congrats to Steph!  So excited for the happy couple!

Did Somebody Say Cake?

There’s such a big build up to the whole give the babe some cake and watch her make a big spectacular mess moment.  Our little lady wasn’t having any of that.  She just did a little dance while everyone sang to her and then poked her cake a few times.  She did get after it a couple times with the direct mouth to cake method… but it didn’t get much more exciting than that :)

Mmmmmm….

I handed the camera over to my Dad for all the messy fun- and somehow I had it set on something weird so they all turned out dark, dark, dark.  I’m pretty bummed about it.  I managed to salvage a couple.  I’m not sure what the heck we’re doing here, obviously we think she needs some help with her big bite.

I’m sure her lack of interest in eating the cake had nothing to do with my baking skills.  Right?
